Louis Calvin Ezell, 78, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Ezell, son of Fred and Ada (Armes) Ezell, was born December 5, 1932, in Doniphan, Missouri. He was a millwright in the Olin Corporation. Mr. Ezell enjoyed showing and raising horses, hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He was a 1951 Doniphan High School graduate and a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Behnam from 1951-1955. On November 20, 1961, he was married to Patricia Wagenblast in Woodriver, Illinois, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Duane Ezell of Brighton, Illinois, and Clinton (and Angie) Ezell of Alton, Illinois; four daughters, Deborah (and Richard ) Hayes, Anita (and Clyde) Geisler, Barbara (and Donald) Kelley and Shirley (and Mark) McGee, all of Brighton, Illinois; two sisters, Mary Ann Kennon of Santa, Idaho, and Carol Lee Cothron of Paducah, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lucille and Martha, and two brothers, William Ezell and Robert Ezell. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, November 2, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Thursday afternoon, November 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
