Obituary of Evelyn Fay Cooper

Evelyn Fay Cooper, 82-year-old Doniphan, MO resident, departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2019 in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.  Evelyn was born August 2, 1937 to the late Johnson and Alice Elliott Beasley in Naylor, MO.

Mrs. Cooper retired from the ASCS office. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, gardening, baby-sitting her grandchildren and neighbors, Ben and Kensey Killian, and going on a good fishing trip. Evelyn was a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church and a past member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

On July 1, 1986, Evelyn married Terry Cooper in Paragould, AR.  He survives.

Also surviving are her sons, Kenny (Pat) Spell of Louisville, KY, Roger (Mary) Spell of Ellicottville, NY, Joe Spell of St. Louis, MO, David (Diana) Cooper of Bloomfield, MO, and Steve Cooper of Lagrange, KY; her sisters, Mary (Sterling) Redfern of Harlingen, TX, Doris (Ken) Mauer of Montrose, CO, and Donna (Jack) Hall of Doniphan;  and her brother, Jerry Beasley of Atlanta, GA. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Cooper, and two brothers, Kenneth Lee Beasley and Jimmy Beasley.

Visitation for Mrs. Cooper will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 with a memorial service following at 6:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Kent Wilfong will be officiating.
