Obituary of Wayne Bell

Wayne Bell, 75, formerly of the Doniphan and Naylor areas, departed this life Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Miner Nursing Home in Sikeston, MO. Wayne was born January 21, 1944 in St. Louis, MO to the late Jess R. and Bobbie K. Powers Bell.

He started the first rural fire department and served as Civil Defense Director for Ripley County.  Mr. Bell served this region as a law enforcement officer and in later years, was a bus driver for the Doniphan R-I School District. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served in the National Guard 1138th MP Squadron. 

Wayne is survived by one sister, Greta Jackson of St. Louis and a special friend, Patricia Price of Sikeston, MO.   He was preceded in death by his brother, Jess R. Bell.

A graveside service for Mr. Bell will be Monday, August 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
