Juanita Pauline Steele, 91-year-old Doniphan resident, departed this life Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing center in Farmington, MO. She was born March 9, 1928 in Doniphan to the late Hume and Edith Emmons Skaggs.

Pauline retired from Vitronic after working there for 36 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, and flowers. Mrs. Steele was a member of Fairview Church of God.

On September 15, 1944, Pauline married Guy Nelson Steele in Corning, AR. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2015.

Surviving are her sons, George (Mary) Steele of Fredricktown, MO, Ray (Janis) Steele of Scottsville, KY, Gene (Sonya) Steele of Doniphan, MO, Glenn (Meshell) Steele of Santa Fe, TN, and Brian (Michelle) Steele of Sturgis, KY; daughter-in-law Linda Steele of Doniphan; her sisters, Ruby Hatfield of Doniphan, MO, Sue Turner of Ellsinore, MO, and Ann Roark also of Doniphan; and her brothers, Kit Skaggs of Poplar Bluff, MO and Robert Skaggs of Cedar Hill, MO. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by her son, Guy Wayne Steele; her sisters, Glenna Woodruff, Lois Smith, and Edna Lour; and her brothers, Oran Skaggs and Tom Skaggs.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 Friday, August 16, 2019 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 a,m, with Brother Randy Whiteside officiating. Burial will follow in Brooks Cemetery.
