Obituary of Virgil Eugene Pinkston

Virgil Eugene Pinkston, 75-year-old Doniphan, MO resident, departed this life Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his home. On February 11, 1944 Virgil was born to the late Lola Ophelia Pinkston in Clarkton, MO.

Mr. Pinkston retired from the United States Marine Corp where he served three tours of duty. He served in Vietnam, during the Cuban Crisis and spent some of his time in the service stationed in Japan. He was a jet mechanic and worked his way up to a staff sergeant. Mr. Pinkston is a member of VFW Post #3485 of Doniphan, MO.

On May 17, 1963 Virgil married Judy Elizabeth Siegler in Malden, MO. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2019.

Surviving are his children, Sarah Dawes of Doniphan, Danny (Glenna) Pinkston of Doniphan, Joe (Angel) Pinkston of Lexington, TN, and Kavin (Reba) Pinkston, also of Doniphan; and his sisters, Louise Slaughter of Atlanta, GA, Glenda Haynes of Clarkton, MO, Paula Johnson of Dexter, MO, and Phylis Burt of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Brandi, Steven, and Riley; step-grandchildren, Candace-Rae, Raymond, and Mary; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Pinkston will be Monday, August 5, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019 with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cotton Creek Cemetery near Couch, MO.
