Ruby was born February 24, 1929, in Briar, Missouri, to Perry and Flossie (Baker) Smith. She departed this life October 24, 2011, at the age of 82 years, 8 months in Fulton, Missouri.
Ruby was married to Ray Gilmore on May 21, 1949. They were married 61 years. Ray passed on June 1, 2010.
Ruby worked for Vitronics for 32 years before she retired. She loved her flowers, especially her mums.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, nine brothers and one sister.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Mable Jean Gilmore of Fenton, Missouri; two sisters, Ruth Haney of Doniphan and Ethiel Mossman of Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Eunice McCaleb of Fulton, Missouri; many nieces and nephews and one very special nephew, Donald McCaleb.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday, October 28, 2011, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ruby was a wonderful Auntie and a great person. She will truly be missed.
