Obituary of Nick Pepmiller
Nick Pepmiller, Jr. 86-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life at St. Frances Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday, July 1, 2019. He was born January 12, 1933 in Doniphan to the late Nick and Thelma Luney Pepmiller.
Nick is known by many in Ripley County for the many years he served as sheriff. He retired after 12 years of serving the county. He also worked 20 years for Vitronic. Mr. Pepmiller was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Missouri State Highway Patrol Masters. He was a former member of Missouri National Guard. Nick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He loved Colorado and Cripple Creek, Colorado Donkeys. He also loved his dogs and cats.
Mr. Pepmiller married Patricia Miller on October 17, 1954 at the Doniphan Methodist Church. They celebrated 64 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his sisters, Ruby (Robert) Ball of Rogers, AR, and Shirley Shelton of Cabool. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom he greatly loved and enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Emma Johnes.
Visitation for Mr. Pepmiller will be Friday, July 5, 2019 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 at the Fairdealing Cemetery with Pastor Donald Carson officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Judes or St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
