Obituary of Bonnie Sue Riley

 

Bonnie Sue Riley, 72, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, May 2, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Riley, daughter of Charles and Opal (Bishop) Abernathy, was born March 3, 1947, in Sikeston, Missouri.  She had been a cook in the Doniphan R-1 School District and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Ms. Bonnie enjoyed watching detective shows on television and she especially liked having company to visit with.

On May 16, 1964, she was married to James Riley at East Prairie, Missouri, and he died in July of 2000.

Mrs. Riley was also preceded in death by her parents and one child, C. D. Riley.

Surviving are one daughter, Yvonne (Joe) Schrum of Doniphan; a sister, Dorothy Collins of Tennessee; a brother, Robert Abernathy of Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, Delbert Lee (Barbara) Riley of Florida; 7 grandchildren, Mary Jo, Danyale, Brittany, Christina, Heather, Ada and M.C.; and 12 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Cooper, Rayleigh, Christa, Macy Jo, Landon, Levi, Maddy, David, Cheyenne, Rachel and Raynie.

Visitation will take place Friday evening, May 10, 2019, from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Kent Wilfong officiating.  Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie, Missouri.
