Obituary of Velvie Violet Frederick

Velvie Violet Frederick, 91, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, March 1, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Mrs. Frederick, daughter of Royce Leo and Rosie Belle (Holland) Baldwin, was born June 18, 1927, in Kansas City, Kansas.  She had been employed with the government federal loans programs.  Mrs. Frederick enjoyed crocheting, reading and going camping, especially with family and friends.

On May 27, 1943, she was married to Edward Frederick in Corning, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death in 2000.

She was also predeceased by her parents; 1 son, Sonny Frederick; 1 grandson, Deric Dugger; and several brothers.

Surviving are 4 children:  Helen (Charles) Stratton of St. Louis, Missouri, Linda (Ray) Dugger and Juanita (Donny) Stahl, both of Doniphan, and Shirley (Monroe) Boyer of Peveley, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Diana Frederick of Lexington, Tennessee;1 sister-in-law, Ann Frederick of Doniphan; and grandchildren, Rodney, Scott and Megan, Mike, James and Amy, Missy, Shelly and Johnny and Daren and Megan.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, March 9, 2019, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  The funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel with Brother Pete Joplin officiating.  Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery.
