Obituary of Leon B. Spell
Leon B. Spell, 81-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Spell was born September 7, 1937, in Doniphan, MO to the Clarence and Lexie Shelby Spell.
Leon was a self-employed farrier and loved horses, deer hunting, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also was a former member of the Ripley County Saddle Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Etta Black; and brothers Carl, Homer, Neil, and Paul Spell.
He was married to Dorothy JoAnne Spell, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Kenny (Pat) Spell of Louisville, KY; Roger (Mary) Spell of Ellicotville, NY; Joe Spell of St. Louis, MO; 3 grandchildren, Jamie, Shelby, and Robert Spell; and 1 great-grandson Dustin Hines, Jr.
Visitation for Mr. Spell will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM with the Memorial Service following at 11:30 AM with Bro. Monty Flanagan officiating.
