Obituary of Glenn Pennington

Wilber Glenn Pennington, 88, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.

Mr. Pennington, son of John and Hannah Zoredo (Fulkerson) Pennington, was born December 21, 1929, in Flatwoods, Missouri.  He had been a barber.  Mr. Pennington enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and gardening.  He was a member of the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church and former member of the Masonic Lodge.  Glenn was a veteran the U. S. Navy and served during the Korean War.

On May 16, 1959, he was married to Charlotte Ray in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and she survives.

Also surviving are 2 children:  Mike (Annie)Pennington of Fairdealing, Missouri, and Becky (Tom) Tracy of Doniphan; 1 sister, Mary Etta Gladden of Doniphan; 4 grandchildren, Ashley (Danner) McCauley, Erin (Jason) Barton, Jessica (Dustin) Gage and Josh Aden; 2 step-grandchildren, Danielle and Lane Tracy; 1 great-grandchild, Zoey Gage; and 1 step great-grandchild, Austyn McCauley.

Mr. Pennington was preceded in death by his parents;5 sisters, Jettie Lee Mitchell, Martha Edith Webb, Lucille McPheeters, Effie Mae Gann and Ruth Clementina McPheeters; and 5 brothers, Boss Pennington, Tom Pennington, Clifford Pennington, Berthall Pennington and John Pennington.

Visitation will begin at noon Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery near Doniphan.

Memorials may be made to the Springhill School of Hope.
