Obituary of Roberta Lee Crook
Roberta Lee Crook, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
Mrs. Crook, daughter of the late Frank and Vergie (Emmons) Lawhon, was born August 23, 1932, in Doniphan. She retired as manager of the restaurant at Woolworths Department Store in Granite City, Illinois, in 1986. She and her husband moved back to the Doniphan area that same year.
On August 23, 1947, she was married to Lloyd Alvin Crook at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2008. They had enjoyed 60 years of marriage prior to his death.
Surviving are 3 children: Frank and Connie (Maxwell) Crook of Worden, Illinois; Sandy (Crook) Beckner of Granite City, Illinois; and Tim and Sheila (Simpson) Crook of Puxico, Missouri; and 1 sister, Kay Scarbrough (Ron) of Granite City, Illinois. Eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Crook was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Allen.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, November 9, 2018, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at noon and burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
