Obituary of LaVerne Allen Beale

Please share a memory of LaVerne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

In the early morning hours of October 19th, 2018, LaVerne Allen Beale, 74, of Doniphan, MO departed this life.  The sky gained its brightest star and heaven gained a very special angel.  Not only was he our father/husband/grandfather/uncle/brother/friend, but he was our advisor, our leader, our critic, our comedian, our hand holder, our biggest fan, our hero, our brightest light, our calm in the storm….the very heartbeat of our clan.  Life will never be the same without him.  Many people knew, respected, and loved this man.  He was a friend and mentor to so many.  The kind of person who would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and did so more times than can be counted.  He was the type of person that positively touched the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him.

He was a successful businessman who achieved great honor and notoriety, not only in our community but literally nationwide, in his trade.  He was Ripley County Man of the Year, President of the Chamber of Commerce, and Who’s Who worldwide for the forging and steel industry. LaVerne was a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church.  He was a brilliant example for those of us trying to make a good life for ourselves in that he demonstrated sheer determination to achieve goals with a steadfast refusal to give up on what matters most.  He did this everyday with simple compassion and integrity.  He was just “a hell of a man.”

LaVerne was the son of the late Frank and Donna Beale.  Later Floyd Hahn was his beloved step-father.  He was big brother to Duane Beale (Joanna), Terri Webb (David), and the late Joanne Hunter.  Husband of 39 years to Deborah Tangorra, having been married December 22, 1979 in Byron, IL; father to Allen Beale (Shann); Donald Beale; Cliff Hall (Erin); and Stephanie Pittman (Terry).  He had 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters as well as 4 great-grandsons.  He had numerous employees that he considered family.

Funeral services for LaVerne Beale will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Kent Wilfong and Eric Leroux officiating.  Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM.
