Obituary of Bob Holland

Robert Lloyd Holland, 70, lifelong resident of Doniphan, Missouri died Sunday evening, October 14, 2018, at Southeast Health of Ripley County.

Mr. Holland, son of Clyde and Mildred (Rongey) Holland, was born May 1, 1948, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He was a retired car salesman and a former member of the Jaycees and Doniphan Lions Club.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but his favorite past-time was spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him Poppy.  Bob was a veteran of the U. S. Army and had served a tour of duty in Vietnam.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3485 where he had served as Post Commander and a Benefits Officer.

On October 12, 1968, he was married to Linda Reeves in Doniphan and she preceded him in death on August 1, 2010.

Bob was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charlie Holland.

Surviving are two daughters:  Amy Holland and Jill Holland, both of Doniphan; one brother, Dick (and Rita) Holland  and nephew, Rob of Doniphan; four grandchildren, Taylor Holland (and fiance’ Sydnee) and Macy, Mia and Harper Baugh; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Wanda Reeves of Doniphan.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018, from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home.  The funeral service will take place Thursday afternoon, October 18, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Leon Harvey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hunt-White Cemetery.
