Allie Lee Garrett, 94, of Doniphan, MO passed peacefully from this life surrounded by loving family and friends on August 26, 2018.

Lee was born in Ridgely, TN to John and Ocie Autry on June 20, 1924. On September 26, 1942 she was married to the love of her life, Raymond Garrett, and spent 71 devoted years together raising 4 children and enjoying the many, many grandchildren with which they were blessed.

Lee greatly enjoyed being a homemaker, taking joy in sewing, gardening, cooking and canning.  She loved playing Scrabble with her friends and family, almost always walking away with the win. Fish fries were her specialty, making the best hushpuppies and homemade ice cream in Ripley County. She was always excited at Easter time, enjoying over fifty Easter egg hunts with her many grandchildren throughout the years after moving to the farm in 1959.  Lee was loved by so many, always having loyal, devoted friends no matter where she lived.

Lee was a member of Amity Baptist church and spent many years serving the Lord in different capacities.  After Lee was physically unable to attend church, her loving church family hosted bible studies on Wednesday nights at the Colonial Home where she lived so she could continue reading and studying His Word.

Lee is survived by her sons, Gary Garrett (Delores) of Warrenton, MO, Johnny Garrett (Tommye) of Doniphan, MO, and daughter, Judith Byerly (Martin) of Green Valley, AZ, one son-in-law, Kenneth Ormsby of Doniphan, MO, 11 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren and some very special friends.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Aulton Alexander, William Ray, and Council Hight Autry, daughter, Charlotte Ormsby and one great grandchild, Tyler Beline.
