Obituary of Joan Louise Beckwith

Joan Louise Beckwith, 78-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life Saturday, August 18, 2018 at her residence.  Mrs. Beckwith was born January 29, 1940 in Woodriver, IL to the late Benjamin and Lola Baines Bricker.  She was a member of the West Point United Pentecostal Church, and especially enjoyed rocking and singing to her grandkids, embroidering, gardening, canning, cooking, baking.  She had worked in the housekeeping department at the Doniphan Retirement Home for 25 years. 

 

On July 2, 1960 she was married to James Wesley Beckwith, who preceded her in death January 1, 2014.  In addition to Mr. Beckwith and her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son, James Wesley Clay Beckwith and 1 daughter, Jeanie Renee Sheppard; 3 sisters, Lucille McClain, Pauline McClain, and Anna Mae Jones; and 2 brothers, Sonny Bricker and Homer Bricker.

 

Surviving are children Melody Ann (John) Leroux of Doniphan, MO; Dwade (Tammy) Beckwith of Doniphan, MO; Rob (Lisa) Beckwith of Scott, AR; Danny (Laurie) Beckwith of Cabot, AR; Lola Diane Beckwith of Naylor, MO; sister Ruth Campbell of Springfield, IL; brother Lloyd Bricker of South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Beckwith will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the West Point United Pentecostal Church with Bros. Charles and Chuck Carr officiating.  Visitation will be Monday evening, August 20, 2018 from 5-8 PM also at the West Point Pentecostal Church.  Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery.
