Obituary of Ava Elizabeth Tucker

Ava Elizabeth Tucker, 89 year old resident of Poplar Bluff, MO, and former resident of Ripley County, MO departed this life Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Tucker was born August 20, 1928 to the late William Percy and Rosa Lee Harris Wheeler.  She had retired from Vitronic in Doniphan and had lived in Ripley County for 43 years, prior to moving to Poplar Bluff.  She enjoyed creating wedding cakes, quilting, gardening, and her flowers.  She was a member of the Agee General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, MO.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dyke Vester and an infant sister; and a brother James Luther Wheeler.

On September 3, 1946 in Pocahontas, AR she was married to John “Rex” Tucker, who survives of Poplar Bluff, MO.  Also surviving are children Regina (Randy)  Srader of Poplar Bluff, MO; Dennis (Sharon)  Tucker of Benton, KY; grandchildren Jennifer (Randy) Jackson, Amanda (Luke) Krompetz, John (Jill) Tucker, Jason (Jonie) Tucker; great-grandchildren Tucker, Brooklynn, Trent, Bella, Sophie, and Logan.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Tucker will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Schremp officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and burial will be in the Hunt-White Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Doniphan.
