Virginia H. Del Grande, 84, formerly of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at her residence in York, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Del Grande, daughter of Kenneth C. Van Bibber and Florence M. (Cloughly) Gosney, was born February 24, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri. She had worked in the accounting department of a retail furniture business. She was married to Jack E. Del Grande on October 3, 1948, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2002. Surviving are five children; Ginger D. Del Grande, Sunnie Kay Taphorn and Jeff S. Del Grande, all of York, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline L. Butts of Bolivar, Tennessee, and Terri C. Scholl of Prairieville, Louisiana; two sisters, Vera L. Stockton of Sacramento, California, and Marianne Watson of Hays, Kansas; two half-sisters, Patricia A. Santillian of Belton, Missouri, and Alice C. Hudspeth of Wichita, Kansas; three half-brothers, Kenneth R. Van Bibber of Mesa, Arizona, Ronald M. Van Bibber of Raytown, Missouri, and Richard T. Van Bibber. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband one daughter, Linae A. Mabry, and one son, E. Phillip Del Grande. A mass will be held Saturday morning, at 9:00 a.m. October 8, 2011, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan with Father David Coon officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
