Obituary of Shirley Emma Knapp

Shirley Emma Knapp, 92-year-old resident of Grandin, MO departed this life Monday, June 25, 2018 at her residence.  Mrs. Knapp was born June 3, 1926 in St. Louis, MO to the late Harry and Rose Wagner Kern.  She had cooked at the Rustic Inn in Doniphan and loved taking care of her family, enjoyed reading, and was of the Lutheran faith.

 

In June 1947 in St. Louis, MO she was married to Steve Knapp, who preceded her in death November 13, 2011.  Also preceding her in death was a daughter-in-law Dianna Knapp; sisters, June and Norma; brother Harry Kern, Jr.; and Grandson John.

 

Surviving are children, Joe Knapp and his wife Susan of Grandin, MO; John Knapp and his wife Deborah of Doniphan, MO; Steve Knapp, Jr. of St. Louis, MO; Paul George Knapp and his wife Wilma of Doniphan, MO; Margaret Knapp of Grandin, MO; Sister Rose Gieke of Junction City, KS; Grandchildren, Joe Jr., James, Walter, Tammy, Tami, Susan, Kathy, Deborah, Stevie, Mike, Rodney, Kim, Shirley, Shirley, Kim, Cheri, Samantha, Ted; and several great and great great grandchildren.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Knapp will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM.  Visitation will begin Thursday at 9:00 AM with burial in the Grandin Cemetery.
