Obituary of James A. Hill

James A. (Jim) Hill departed this life on May 23rd, 2018 in Osage Beach, MO., surrounded by his family. Jim was born August 23, 1951 and was a lifelong resident of Doniphan, MO. Jim and his family relocated to Lake of the Ozarks, Mo approximately 20 years ago.

Jim was self-employed in the electrical field, specializing in air conditioning systems.  He was a member of the Lions Club and Jaycees and enjoyed riding four-wheelers.  He also liked spending time with his dogs and working on his property, spending time with nature.  Jim was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Iberia.

On May 15, 1968, he was married to Barbara Halley in DeSoto, Missouri, and she survives.  Jim and Barb celebrated their golden wedding anniversary only last week.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Elvin Hill, his stepmother Francis Hill, and his mother Imogene Decamp.

Also surviving are 3 children, Theresa L. Campbell of Iberia, MO, Tracy and Gary Gann of Eldon, MO; and John M. Hill of Iberia, MO. One of Jim's greatest joys in life was his grandchildren who also survive. Cody L. Cochran of Springfield, MO. ; Tyler (TJ) J. Cochran of Iberia, MO; Kaley P. Gann of Kansas City, MO. ; Taryn N. Gann of Springfield, MO.; and Kyle C. Gann of Eldon, MO.

Jim is also survived by 5 brothers; Elvin Hill, Kenneth Hill, Greg Hill, Rocky Hill, Robert Hill, and one sister; Donna Momburg.

Services will be held Saturday May 26 at 1pm at the West Point United Pentecostal Church with Reverends Huey Long and Michael Parmley officiating  Burial will take place at the Hunt-White Cemetery. Visitation will be at this same location Friday May 25th from 6:30-8:00 pm. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

Jim was loved by so many as his kindness and generosity were felt by all who knew him. His meek spirit and calm disposition will never be forgotten.
