Obituary of Buddy Rawlings

Phillip Keith “Buddy” Rawlings, 62, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Mr. Rawlings, son of the late Levearl and JoAnn (Smithson) Rawlings, was born September 4, 1955, in Poplar Bluff.  He had been a self-employed farmer.  “Buddy” enjoyed horseback riding, telling stories, working on his farm and watching his grandsons play sports.  He was a deacon at the Doniphan Church of Christ and enjoyed teaching classes.

On September 14, 1974, he was married to Patricia Bounds in Brakebill, Arkansas, and she survives.

Also surviving are 3 children; Jennifer (Junior) Baucom and Joshua (Mandy) Rawlings, both of Doniphan and Jonathan (Yellmi) Rawlings of Portland, Oregon; 1 sister, Phyllis Kerseg of Scottsdale, Arizona; 1 brother, Russell Rawlings of Seligman, Arizona; and grandchildren, Maguire, Maddox and Matheny Baucom, Levi and Isaac Rawlings; and a new grandchild to arrive in October.

Visitation will begin at noon Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Doniphan Church of Christ.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Steve Sanders officiating.  Burial will be in the Poynor Cemetery.
