Glenda “Willien” Kennon, 89, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at her residence in rural Ripley County, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Kennon, daughter of Williamson. G. and Dolas (Johnson) Mackley, was born October 1, 1928, in Neelyville, Missouri.  She had retired from Vitronic Manufacturing in Doniphan.  Mrs. Kennon loved doing yard work and gardening, traveling and staying at the family hunting cabin.  She was a faithful member of the Doniphan Church of Christ.

On December 7, 1946, she was married to Benjamin F. Kennon at Pocahontas, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1993.

Mrs. Kennon was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 children, Benny Sue and Tony Harrison; and 1 brother, Charles Mackley.

Surviving are 2 sons, Danny (and Kathy) Kennon and Kenny (and Beverly) Kennon, both of Doniphan; 2 sisters, Laverne Armour of Naylor, Missouri, and Joyce Mathis of Troy, Missouri; 2 half-sisters, Rita Keel of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Barb Knotmeyer of St. Louis, Missouri; 2 half-brothers, Ronald Kennon of Springfield, Missouri, and James B. Kennon of Rockford, Illinois; 6 grandchildren, Wesley (Amber) Kennon, Angel Kennon-Spencer, Christy Kennon, Camillia Kennon, Chad Vandergriff and Tony Vandergriff; 8 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon, Carter, Marley, Josey, Briley, Cassey and Dillon; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, May 17, 2018, from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan.  The funeral will take place Friday morning, May 18, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Steve Sanders officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery.
