Clyde N. Sullivan, Jr., 72, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Sullivan, son of Clyde Newton and Grace Gladys (Dickson) Sullivan, Sr., was born October 17, 1938, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a truck driver and sawmiller at the Davis Sawmill in Doniphan. Mr. Sullivan enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and spending time with his family. He was a deacon and songleader at Good Hope General Baptist Church.
On April 23, 1960, he was married to Alvina Mae Cole in Parma, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1999.
Surviving are three daughters; Sandy (Jim) Thompson of Omaha, Arkansas, Nita (Eddie) Lapar of Grandin, Missouri, and Vita (Joe) Lee of Doniphan; two sons, Clyde N. "Newt" (Kim) Sullivan and Nolan (Nancy) Sullivan, both of Doniphan; one daughter-in-law, Pam Sullivan of Doniphan; one sister, Shirley (Raymond) Parsley of Doniphan; two brothers, Ronnie Lee (Barbara) Sullivan of Round Rock, Texas, and Kenneth Ray (Beckie) Sullivan of Doniphan; three foster daughters, Charlotte Stadler Hudson of Huntsville, Arkansas, Phyllis Robertson of Doniphan and Rosemary Chambers of Indiana; twenty grandchildren, Charles, Tim, Donna, Misty, Cindy, Ed, Steven, Johnny, Jackie, Jenny, Julie, Joey, Malinda, Newte, Diana, Jennifer, Tiffany, Jimmy, James and Sarah; thirty-seven great-grandchildren, Samatha, Dylan, Trace, Kyleigh, Crystal, Jarret, Tyler, Cearra, Brady, Danielle, Becky, Erica, Josh, Jamie, Sierra, Makayla, Katelynn, Trace, Alli, Janica, Michelle, Christy, Jacob, Clyde, Bethany, Austin, PJ, Zack, Ashley, Jonathan, Logan, Cheyenne, Riley, Katie, Bryanna, Cienna and Emily; and four great-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Zack, Alexis and Steven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alvina, one son, Jay Sullivan, two sisters, Geneva Sullivan and Linda Sue Juelfs and three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Michael and Hayden.
Visitation for Mr. Sullivan will be Friday evening, September 30, 2011, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Saturday afternoon, October 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Pete Joplin officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.
