Doris Elaine Coats, 77-year-old resident of Gatewood, MO departed this life Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her residence.  Mrs. Coats was born January 3, 1940 to the late Loran and Martha Brown Fifield, in Muscatine, Iowa.  She was a housewife and enjoyed painting, crafts, and birdwatching.  She was a member of the Tucker United Methodist Church.

 

On March 13, 1959, in Rock Island, IL she was married to Allen Coats.  He preceded her in death on July 17, 2017.  Also preceding her in death was one son, Victor Allen Coats.

 

Surviving are two grandchildren, Crystal Kendrick and Dustin Coats both of Davenport, Iowa; and two great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Coats will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Reynolds officiating.  Visiting will begin at 9:00 A.M. Thursday morning.  Burial will be in the Briar Oak Ridge Cemetery.
