Obituary of Bill Sparks
William “Bill” Lee Sparks, 92, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, October 6, 2017, at his residence in Doniphan..
Mr. Sparks was born March 4, 1925, to Robert and Emma (Larson) Sparks in Magnolia, Kentucky. He was a member of the Carpenters Union in St. Louis. Mr. Sparks served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was later stationed at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
On July 16, 1966, in Shawneetown, Illinois, he married Maxine Shelton. She survives.
Survivors include three sons William Sparks, Bill (Diane) Sparks, Ricky (Sandy) Sparks; one daughter Sandy (Glenn) Cummins; three step sons, Ricky Hudson, Ronnie Hudson and Jeff Hudson; and one brother, Attrue Sparks; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sparks was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Lura Cook; one granddaughter Denise; one sister Lura Ijames; and one brother James Sparks.
Private family services are planned for a later date.
