Obituary of Dorothy June Woodring

Dorothy June Woodring, 89, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Mrs. Woodring, daughter of Fields and Elizabeth (House) Blanchard, was born September 16, 1928, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.  She had been a homemaker.  Mrs. Woodring enjoyed reading, cooking, working in her yard, tending her plants, gardening and doing wordsearch.  She was of the Baptist faith.

On July 18, 1954, she was married to Donald “Woody” Woodring in Springfield, Tennessee, and he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Dennie Fletcher; her siblings, Helen, Nevalyn, Cissy, Buddy, Jean, Jewell and Mae; and 1 grandchild, Jeff Fletcher.

Surviving are 5 children:  Ronnie (Joni) Fletcher of Midlothian, Virginia, Mike (Chris) Fletcher of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Donna (Seth) Krause of Columbia, Missouri, Debbie (Jim) McGahey of Raleigh, North Carolina and Missy (Ricky) Sisco of Doniphan; 8 grandchildren, Tammy, Josh, Alicia, Chloe, Katie, Alex, Briana and Amy; 3 step-granchildren, Leroy, Brian, Jacob; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Woodring was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by those many lives she so dearly touched.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening, September 30, 2017, from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  An additional visitation will begin Sunday, October 1, 2017, at noon at the Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, Kentucky.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in their chapel and burial will be at the Grape VIne Cemetery in Madisonville, Kentucky.
