William H. "Fuzz" Gunter, 90, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Gunter, son of Bob and Myrtle (Arnold) Gunter, was born July 14, 1921, in the community of Flatwoods in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army with the 391st. Engineer Company Depot. Mr. Gunter was a member of the Doniphan V.F.W. Post #3485 and American Legion.
He is survived by two children; Bill Gunter, Jr. of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Margaret Humphrey of Stilwell, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Amanda Gunter, Kevin Humphrey and Kassandra Hattabaugh; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Myrtle Gunter, three sisters, Lucille, Laura and Leona, and four brothers, Roscoe Herschel, Floyd and Clifford.
Visitation for Mr. Gunter will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, September 5, 2011, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
