Obituary of Mildred Othela Barnett
Mildred Othella (Pyles) Barnett, 81 year old resident of Doniphan, MO departed this life July 9, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Barnett was born August 20, 1935 in Campbell, MO to the late James and Lillian Rudder Pyles.
Mildred was a retired Nurse and enjoyed chatting with her friends, playing Farmville, watching Blue Bloods, and her favorite saying was “God is the driver. I am just a passenger.”
She was married to Alton Barnett in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2015. Also preceding her in death were sons Harold (Duffy) Kitchen and Jerry (Boe) Kitchen; siblings, Melba Nelson, Margaret (Ann) Brown, Clifford Pyles, Katherine Pyles, J.M. Thompson; and grandchildren Jennifer Ferguson, Johnny Kitchen, Joe Wasylko, and Daniel Washburn.
Surviving is one Daughter, Charlotte Stewart and her husband Tracy of Washington, D.C.; Children adopted by love, Sheila Meadors and Erin Lizenbee both of Doniphan, MO; Sister, Hilda (Janetta) Smith of Doniphan, MO; Brothers, Eugene Pyles of Campbell, MO; Leroy Pyles of Poplar Bluff, MO; Gale Pyles of Plainfield, IL; James Pyles of Missouri; Grandchildren Jessica Rushin of Burnside, KY, Sarah Ferguson of Rolla, MO, Michael and David Kitchen of Doniphan, MO, Nathania Futrell of Doniphan, MO, Gerald Schafer of Downers Grove, IL, Jimmy Washburn of Michigan; and several Great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Barnett will be held Monday, July 17, 2017, 12:00 P.M. at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, MO. Visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. Monday morning in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan, MO.
