Willard James Dale, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Mr. Dale, son of Rector and Emma (Rackley) Dale, was born October 18, 1930, in Bardley, Missouri.  He had been a line production manager for Reynolds Metals/Alcoa.  Mr. Dale enjoyed being outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing and he especially loved being with his family.  He was a member of Emmanuel Methodist Church of St. Louis and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.  Mr. Dale was a senior officer of his base and was stationed at the closest point to Russia.

On August 27, 1954, he was married to Carol Copenhagen in St. Louis, Missouri, and she survives.

Also surviving are 3 daughters, Vicki Quigley of Warrensburg, Missouri, Susan Austin of Summersville, Missouri, and Laurie Dale Marshall of Lyons, Colorado; 1 brother, Bob Dale of Bardley, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, Erin, Zack, Robert, Lincoln, Emma and Georgia; and 2 great-grandchildren, Trent and Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Wanda Miller and Viola Marley; 3 half-sisters, Hilda, Vivian and Olive; 2 brothers, Cecil Dale and Connie Dale; and 3 half-brothers, Bill, Howard and Gene.

Visitation for Mr. Dale will begin at noon Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.  A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Bardley Cemetery with Brother Danny Miller officiating.
