Obituary of Billy Curtis Thomason, Sr.
Billy Curtis Thomason, Sr., 79, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Thomason, son of James Lynn and Dorothy Mae (Mayberry) Thomason, was born July 5, 1937, in Broseley, Missouri. He was retired military and had served in the U. S. Air Force, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the 555 triple nickel red horse unit. Mr. Thomason loved CBs and landscaping and was of the Episcopalian faith. He was of Native American Cherokee descent.
On December 14, 1956, he was married to Rose Elizabeth Janek in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and she preceded him in death in 2001.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Michael Alan Thomason.
Surviving are 3 children: Belinda MacDonald of Doniphan, Billy Curtis Thomason, Jr., of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Wayne Edward Thomason, Sr. of Aniston, Alabama; 1 sister, Norene Thomason of Lyons, Georgia; and 5 grandsons.
A visitation will begin Saturday morning, May 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
