Obituary of Alice Jean Stidham

Alice Jane Stidham, 88, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Sunday, November 27, 2016, at her residence in rural Ripley County, Missouri.
Mrs. Stidham, daughter of Riley and Myrtle (Crook) Payne, was born September 11, 1928, in Doniphan. She had been an employee of Vitronic Manufacturing Plant for many years prior to retirement. Mrs. Stidham enjoyed making quilts and being outdoors and she was a member of the Simpson Creek General Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
On February 24, 1949, she was married to John Lemuel Stidham in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1988.
Also preceding her in death were 2 sons, Bo Stidham and Mark Stidham; 4 sisters, Irene Lambert, Jessie King, Sylvia Colter and Naomi Payne; 2 brothers, Howard Payne and Walter Payne; 1 grandson, Anthony Nash; 1 granddaughter, Valerie Payne; and 2 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Stidham and Eli Payne.
Surviving are 4 children: Donna Ellis, Matt Stidham and Brenda Nash, all of Doniphan, and Paul Stidham of Cortaro, Arizona; 2 sisters, Ruth Becker of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Joyce Baxter of Bland, Missouri; 2 brothers, John Payne and Roland Payne, both of Doniphan; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon, November 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
