Thomas Don Ferguson Thomas Don Ferguson, 38, was born in Poplar Bluff on March 2, 1969, the first child of Harry Don Ferguson and Wilma Lee (nee Hall) Ferguson from Doniphan. At the age of 17, Thomas enlisted in the United States Army. There, after basic training, he received training as a medical technician, specializing in the field of Optometry. After leaving the Army, with the rank of Sergeant, Thomas took a position with Wal-Mart stores managing optical departments in the Florida and Alabama areas. In this position, he was utilized to increase marginal shops to profitability. He left Wal-Mart stores to accept a position as an area manager for several optical shops for the Lens Crafters Optical chain in Tennessee. Due to ill health, he left this position in 2006. Thomas is survived by his father and mother, his beloved maternal grandfather and best friend, Willard Hall; four children, Thomas Don Ferguson, son, Natasha Ferguson and twins, Kahla and Kristina Ferguson, daughters; a sister, Melissa McGee of Gilmer, Texas; two brothers, Jon Ferguson of Longview, Texas, and Jeffery Ferguson of Wheatland, Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews. Thomas especially loved his children, floating the river, fishing, hunting and playing pool. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the chapel with Brother Larry Cockman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan is in charge of arrangements.
