D. LaVern Beal, Of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, May 26, 2016, at her residence in rural Ripley County. Mrs. Beal, daughter of the late Hadley T. and Ruth (Arnold) Crawford, was born January 22, 1935, in Puxico, Missouri. She had worked in factories all of her life. Mrs. Beal also did stand up comedy and was known as Miss Pearl Lee. She always said she knew God had a sense of humor when she looked in the mirror. She loved to see people smile and stated that was when they were the prettiest. Mrs. Beal loved to paint quilts, sew, meet people and have big dinners with her family. She was of the General Baptist faith. On September 20, 1968, she was married to Barney J. Beal who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons from an earlier marriage: David Anthony (and Donna) Walker and Larry Lynn (and Dorothy) Walker, both of Doniphan; a son Barney Lee Beal of the home; a daughter, Ina Crawford; 3 granddaughters, Amy Lynn Sainio, Kimberly Dawn Moore and Dana Lynn Walker; 6 great-grandchildren, Dakota and Courtney Bond, Mallory, Austin and Sydney Grace Sainio and Jake Moore; 1 great-great-grandchild, Peyton Sainio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Floyd Lynn Crawford and Robert Franklin Eubanks. A memorial service will take place Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.
