Obituary of Marian Tyson Hawk

Marian Delores Tyson Hawk, 91, formerly of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, August 4, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She is now eternally joined with her loving family members. Marian was born February 23, 1920, to Ben and Cora Baker Woodring in Theromopolis, Wyoming.She spent most of her life in Ripley County, Missouri, after moving to the area at the age of 9. She loved being with family, working with flowers, playing skip-bo and participating in church activities. Marian and her husband, Seb, owned and operated Tyson's Flowers in Doniphan for many years. She was married to Seb Tyson on May 15, 1937, and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1978. Together they had four children: Helen Powell, Tom (Virginia) Tyson, Ron (Sandra) Tyson and Linda (Todd) Kinerk. She and Seb also raised two grandchildren, Holly Woods (Robert) Huelskamp and Lynn Woods. She also has nine other grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one sister, Roberta, of Springfield, Missouri. Marian married Charlie Hawk in 1990 and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2002. She spent her last years, first in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, near her granddaughter, Holly and family, next in Nixa, Missouri, and her last months were spent in Cape Girardeau. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, six brothers, two sisters, both daughters, Helen Powell and Linda Kinerk, her son, Tom Tyson, and grandson, Lynn Woods. Visitation for Marian will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, August 7, 2011, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
