Hazel Irene McMurtry, 82 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Sunday, February 14, 2016,, at her residence.
Mrs. McMurtry was born January 9, 1934, in Olive Branch, Illinois, to the late Leroy N. and Florence M. (Stiltz) Evans. Hazel was a hairdresser, having owned and operated her own Beauty Shop and later working with her daughter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Doniphan and loved to bowl and quilt.
On March 17, 1990, she was married to Bill McMurtry who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one son, Dan Bledsoe; sisters Christine Dillender and Mary Nance; and brothers, Charles, Hershel, Leroy, Jr., and Harold Evans.
Mrs. McMurtry is survived by one daughter Nancy Blake and her husband Rick of Doniphan, MO; two sons, Robb Bledsoe and his wife Brenda of Poplar Bluff, MO; Mark Bledsoe and his wife Dawn of Huntington Beach, CA; one sister Clesta Key of Doniphan, MO; one brother Jerry Evans and his wife Shelly of Imperial, MO; six grandchildren, Shannon Juenger, Jeremy Bledsoe, Clifford Blake, Evan Hicks, Jacob Bledsoe, and Travis Bledsoe; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 23, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Doniphan with Brother Monty Flanigan
officiating.
