LeRoy Pickens, 88, of Doniphan died Thursday December 24, 2015, at his residence in Doniphan.
Mr. Pickens was born January 8, 1927 in Chandler, OK to Herman & Myrtle (Booth). He was a veteran in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a member of Masonic Lodge Composite # 369 of Doniphan and the Carpenters District Council of Greater St. Louis. Mr. Pickens enjoyed spending time with family, traveling & camping; he worked in construction with Niehaus Interior in St. Louis.
On February 23, 1952, he married Mildred Dudley in Piggott, AR. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, James (Linda) Pickens of St. Louis, Missouri, and Carl (Diane) Pickens of Piedmont, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon (Max) Cupp of Imperial, Missouri, and Karen (Mike) Jacobs of San Antonio, Texas; Four brothers, Herman Jr, Larry, Charlie, and James; three sisters Mary Lou, Janice, and Shirley Mae; and twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and close friend Bob Stark
Mr. Pickens was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Wilford, Billy, & Bill; and one sister Martha.
Visitation will be from 5-8 Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral service will be at 10 AM Wednesday December 30 at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan with Bro. Randy Miller and Bro. Jeff Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Towles Cemetery with full military honors.
