Joseph Lawrence Greenlee Jr., more commonly known as Larry, 80, departed this life Saturday, December 19th at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Larry was born in Naylor, Missouri on July 14th, 1935, to the late Joseph Lawrence Greenlee Sr. and Lola (Woolard) Greenlee of Naylor, Missouri. Larry was retired from the Missouri Highway Department where he worked for 40 years. He also spent several years on the Doniphan School Board. He participated in every deer season since its inception, including the 2015 season. Larry was an avid gardener and spent much of his time growing his own vegetables and a vast array of flowers. When he wasn’t outdoors, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the St. Louis Cardinals on television.
Larry was married to Nadine McGee on August 11, 1955, in Flint, Michigan. She survives. Together the couple had 3 children: Gary Greenlee, Sandra Greenlee, and Larry Greenlee, all of whom survive. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Crystal Greenlee, Wesley Greenlee, Amber Greenlee, Gary Greenlee Jr., and Chelsie Greenlee. One sister, Betty Slayton of Naylor, and one brother, Jerry Greenlee (Jacqueline) of St. Charles, Missouri also survive.
