Obituary of Neacie V. Davis

Neacie V. Davis, 107 year old resident of Ripley County, MO, departed this life Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the Current River Nursing Center.
Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Ripley County and was born April 5, 190,8 in Grandin, MO to the late William and Maggie (McKinney) Reeves. Maggie died when Neacie was nineteen days old and her father later married Esther McKinney, sister of Maggie. Neacie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and canning.
On May 5, 1926, she was married to Phillip Davis and he preceded her in death in 1977. Also preceding her in death were three children, Lois O’Neill, Mary Sue Ezell and William Davis; two half-brothers, Bud Reeves and Bill Reeves; and one half-sister, Katherine Merlotti.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters, Doris Emmons and Phyllis Hartrup both of Doniphan; one half-brother, John Reeves of Doniphan; and has had thirteen grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Neacie Davis will be Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Logan Creek General Baptist Church with Bro. Hubert Payne officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. at the Church, and burial will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery.
