Bonnie Lois Swigert, 90, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Colonial Home in Doniphan.
Mrs. Swigert, daughter of O. J. and Rose (Dale) Smith, was born March 20, 1925, in Bardley, Missouri. She had retired as an employee of Vitronic Manufacturing in Doniphan and had attended First Church of God.
On November 26, 1956, she was married to Gene Swigert in Doniphan and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2000.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Gerry (and Lloyd) Hodo and Linda (and Odell) Ellis, both of Doniphan; 1 step-son, Terry Swigert of Grandin, Missouri; 2 sisters, her twin, Joyce Griffin of Doniphan and Mae Raney of Mary Esther, Florida; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sharon Drane, one sister, Edna Lorey, and 3 brothers, Hanford Smith, Jack Smith and Howard Smith.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2015, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with pastors Larry Bashaw and Larry Earl officiating. Burial will be in the Grandin Cemetery.
