John W. Johnson, 90, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Johnson was born May 16, 1916, in Cowlake, Arkansas. He was a logger in the timber industry. Mr. Johnson was a cowboy and had served as a ranch foreman and broke horses. He enjoyed playing checkers and going to church and foremost he enjoyed a good meal. On September 3, 1983, he was married to Mearley Ingram Oakley. She survives. Also surviving are one son; Richard Johnson of Sunlake, Arizona, and one daughter; Kathy Rahn of Fresno, California; one sister; Mary Miller of Murray, Kentucky, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; George Johnson and Mary Garrett Johnson; one sister; Ethel Ball and three brothers; Ray, Ed and Ado Johnson. Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2007, from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. with Brother David Sappington officiating. Burial will follow in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
