Orville Richard Hess, Jr.
Orville Richard Hess, Jr., of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, formerly of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Hess was born in Doniphan on April 13, 1951. He was a nurse and worked at Doniphan. Mr. Hess liked heavy-duty trucks and equipment. He also enjoyed being on the river and spending time with his family. Mr. Hess was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Doniphan and was a U. S. Army veteran. His favorite quote was "Anything worth doing is worth doing it right."
On July 13, 1985, he was married to Sheila Honeycutt at Doniphan and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cassandra Lorden of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Heather Honeycutt of Doniphan; one son, Timothy Honeycutt of Doniphan; three sisters, Patricia Johnson and Dorothy Walker of Doniphan and Arvilla Davis of Poplar Bluff, and four grandchildren, Preston Lorden, Conner Lorden, Arianna Lorden and Brianna Lorden. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Mr. Hess was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Richard Hess, Sr., and Isabelle Baucom Hess, and one brother, Weldon Kneiss.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 10, 2007, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Monday, June 11, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Wilson Cemetery.
