John Quinton Wright, 80, of Doniphan died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at his residence in Doniphan. Mr. Wright was born August 10, 1926, in Paris, TN to the late John & Dorothy (Hubbard) Wright. He had previously lived in St. Louis, Mo and moved to Doniphan nine years ago. Mr. Wright was an office manager for a transportation company. Mr. Wright was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. On May 26, 1969 he married Peggy Lavada Hoefer in Belleville, IL. She survives. Also preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Fred Wright and sisters, Ethel, Evelyn and Theo (Kate); & one son, Danny Ray Wright. Surviving is one daughter, Mary Catherine Shield Neidenbach & husband John Stanley of Imperal, MO; two sons, James Joseph Shields & wife Sonny of Barnhart, MO and Thomas Patrick Shields of Canyon County CA.; one brother Ernest Everett Wright of Caruthersville, MO; and seven grandchildren Dawn, Jason, Stromie, Justin, Peggy Micheile, Julie Ann, John Jr. and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 9 A.M. with the Monsignor Mike Swalina officiating. Burial will be in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.
