Obituary of Kelsey Holmes

Kelsey Richard Holmes, 81, of Ripley County, formerly of Idaho, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Holmes was born January 31, 1925, in Thayer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during World War II. Mr. Holmes was a river boat engineer and enjoyed amateur radio and the ham radio.
On February 12, 1950, he married Navella Fern Baysinger Holmes in Superior, Montana. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Kelsey Lee Holmes of of Doniphan and Clint Marvin Holmes and Bennie Richard Holmes, both of Belle Rive, Ill; three sisters, Maxine Brooks of Plymouth, Washington, Dorothy Gere of Echo, Oregon, and Barbara Bloum of Gramby, Colorado; three brothers Donald Holmes of Kingston, Indiana, Charles Holmes of Prump, Nevada and Robert Holmes of Magna, Utah; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Brother Matthew Brooks officiating. Burial will be at the Beaver Dam Cemetery.
