Obituary of James Cochran

James (Pete) Cochran, 92, of Doniphan died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cochran was born March 25, 1914 in Doniphan. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3485 in Doniphan. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was an Owner/Operator of Salvage Material and enjoyed hunting and fishing. On October 5, 1940, he married Marie (Williams) Cochran in Doniphan. She preceded him in death in January, 1997. Surviving is one son, Jim Cochran of Doniphan; one brother, Bob Cochran of St. Ann; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral will follow at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.
