Ida Irene Thomas, 92-year-old resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, December 3, 2010, at the Current River Nursing Center.
Mrs. Thomas was born October 6, 1918, in Spanish Fort, Texas, to the late Luther and Myrtle (Strickland) Romines. She was a retired nurse.
On December 31, 1942, in Nocona, Texas, she was married to Pleas Junior Thomas, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2008.
Surviving are 3 children; Henry Thomas and wife, Donna of Oxly, Missouri, Tommie Weatherford and husband, Stu, and Barbara Little and husband, Waymon(John) both of Doniphan, Missouri; 3 sisters, Lillie Ransom of Decatur, Texas, and Sue Willard and Pat Ball both of Nocona, Texas; 2 brothers, Gerald Richardson and Dale Richardson, both of Branson, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Ralph Thomas and wife Rhonda, Tracey Seaton and husband Sterling, Debbie Willis and husband Jim, Patty Gray and husband Kevin, David Luye and wife Denise, Sherry Dorr and husband Joel, Kathy Little, John Little and fiance Jamie, Aimee Conover and husband Michael, Jeffery S. Weatherford, J. Steven Weatherford, and Charles L. Weatherford; and 23 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be held Monday, December 6, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan with Brother Fred Wiktorek officiating. Burial will follow in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Sunday evening.
