Wilburn B. Steele, 80, of Briar, Missouri, died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Steele, son of Earl and Gussie (Bridges) Steele, was born February 9, 1930, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a timber worker and farmer. Mr. Steele enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Price and her husband, Max, and Vicky Elliott, both of Doniphan; one brother, Billy Steele of Scottville, Illinois; three grandsons, Colton Buckhanan, Nelson Elliott and Neil Elliott; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Laverne Steele, to whom Mr. Steele was married for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lonnie Steele.
Visitation for Mr. Steele will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Big Barren Cemetery.
