Obituary of Anna Gordon Layman

Anna Christina Gordon Layman, 89-year-old resident of Doniphan, Missouri, went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 15, 2010. Mrs. Layman was born June 26, 1921, in Denver, Colorado, to the late Anton and Barbara Kreager Eberly.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and friend to all. She was a homemaker all of her life and was of the Pentecostal faith.
On Dec. 4, 1939, she was married to Norris Merrit Gordon. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1954. She then married William Layman on Sept. 13, 1957. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1985.
Surviving are one son, Nathan Gordon and wife, Darla; one daughter, Noreen Wheaton and husband, Preston; all of Doniphan; two grandsons, Jeremiah Gordon and wife, Grace, of Lynn, Arkansas, and Nicholas Gordon and wife, Christina, of Doniphan; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Lea Gordon and Noah Merrit Gordon; one sister, Barb Arfmanie of Denver, Colorado; one brother, John Eberly of Arvada, Colorado; and many good friends.
Mrs. Layman was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Katie Gooch, Mary Lemki, George Eberly, and Bud Eberly all of Colorado.
Visitation will be held at Oak Grove Church of God on Friday, October 22, 2010, from 5:00-7:30 with a concluding memorial service. Brother Danny Miller will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ripley County Relay for Life.
