Ginnie Geneva Colburn, 84 year old resident of Ripley County, Missouri, died October 17 2010. Mrs. Colburn was born February 1, 1926, in Kennett, Missouri, to the late Charlie and Lectie (Boyles) Merritt. She retired from Vitronic in Doniphan. She was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where she was the minister's wife for over 50 years. She loved the church, her grandchildren, catching the biggest fish, and gardening. She canned a good deal of what was raised and shared abundantly with her many friends. On April 20, 1945, at Success, Arkansas, she married Mr. Clint Colburn. He survives. Other survivors are three sons, J.R. (Jeannine) Colburn of Kansasville, Wisconsin, C.H. (Janice) Colburn of Doniphan, and Sam (Panoply) Colburn of Memphis, Tennessee; two daughters, Carrie June (Johnny) Bingham and Dian Decker both of Doniphan; one sister, Mildred Kempsey of Kalamazoo Michigan; one sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Cherryvale, Kansas; one brother, Ruben Johnson of Bloomfield; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Colburn was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Joyce Kay Colburn; two brothers, Floyd Johnson and Otho Pete Johnson; and three sisters Georgann Lynn, Marie Hansen, and Jessie Bellany. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Edwards Funeral Home with Brother Russell Chitwood and Brother Jimmie Decker officiating. Burial will follow at the Towles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Life Word Radio P.O. Box 6 Conway AR 72033.
