Obituary of Buddy Creed

Buddy Ivan Creed, 57, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Creed was born in Gary, Indiana, on May 14, 1953, the fifth of eight children of John H. and Ovella Creed, both of whom preceded him in death. Buddy served in both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps for 14 years traveling the globe. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Buddy lived and survived on the Yukon River on two different occasions for a period of months on a homemade raft he built himself. He was gifted with a great sense of humor and could keep his family and friends in laughter. Buddy is sadly missed and survived by two daughters, Justine and Rachel Creed of San Francisco, California; six siblings, Marie Holman of Caruthersville, Missouri, Judy Thompson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Joy Brumble of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Becky Taylor of Cary, North Carolina, Marilyn Jones of St. Louis, Missouri, and David Creed of Caruthersville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Buddy lived out his final days surrounded by his favorite niece, nephew and brother-in-law, Sherry and Barry Casteel and I.L. Rogers of Fairdealing. Also preceding him in death was his oldest sister, Louise Rogers of Fairdealing. Louise was most special to Buddy as he thought of her as a second mother and held her dear to his heart. A family life celebration will be held in October.
