Norma Timmons, 82, of Cridersville, Ohio, formerly of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center, in Lima, Ohio. Ms. Norma was born April 1, 1928, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Evert and Katherine Smith, who preceded her in death. On February 13, 1951, she married Johnny H. Timmons, who also preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. They were devoted to each other for 48 years. Norma gave to her family a lifetime of wonderful memories and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her family was blessed by her love, kindness, joy and encouragement, which will be a part of their lives forever. Her generous spirit and contagious smile affected everyone who came in contact with her. She enjoyed bird watching, beautiful flowers, cooking and caring for her family. She was also active in the United Methodist Church and was commited to her faith in God. Survivors include a son, Johnny B. Timmons, of Chino Hills, California; a daughter Teresa (Bryan) Luna, of Lima, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Bingham, of Poplar Bluff and nephew, Charles Adams, and wife, Cindy, of Doniphan, Missouri. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two step-brothers, Claude Smith and Bob Silsby. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday morning, September 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery in Doniphan, Missouri, with Brother Kent Wilfong officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetic Association or the Doniphan United Methodist Church.
